Teleomorph: ascostromata to 1.5 x 0.25 mm, superficial, formed on an effuse subiculum composed of thick-walled dark brown rarely branched hyphae. Peridium with side walls composed of very dark, thick-walled brown-black cells, basal region similar, with a layer of yellow-brown thin-walled angular cells forming the cavity floor. Interascal tissue of branched and anastomosed pseudoparaphyses 1.5-2 µm diam, apically encrusted with minute yellow-brown particles, tending to degenerate at maturity.
