Family: NectriaceaeGenus: Flammocladiella
SUMMARY
Anamorph: sporodochia initially white, becoming orange-yellow. Conidiophores not clearly defined. Conidiogenous cells appearing fasciculate, 37–140 (–160) × 2.5–3 μm, subcylindrical, flexuous. Conidia 30–65 (–78) × 2–2.5 μm, 1–3-septate, rounded at the apex, attenuated and truncate at the base, becoming 6–10-septate, hyaline [data from Lechat & Fournier 2018].
Teleomorph: ascomata in small groups on a small hypostroma, 220-280 µm diam., subglobose, the apex not strongly papillate, the wall orange and covered with pale yellow to apricot hyphae except around the apex, not collapsing when dry. Interascal tissue composed of broad thin-walled moniliform paraphyses filled with orange oil droplets, frequently deliquescent at maturity. Asci 75-90 x 11.5-14 µm, clavate with a short tapering stalk, the apex obtuse, no apical structures seen, not blueing in iodine, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged obliquely, 27-31 x 4.5-6 µm, narrowly fusiform-ellipsoidal, ± equally 3-septate, hardly constricted at the septa, hyaline, finely verrucose.
