Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata 150-200 µm diam, globose to pyriform, the ostiole distinctly papillate, black, fairly thin-walled, coriaceous, superficial or with the base slightly immersed, solitary or aggregated in small clusters, developing from a poorly defined dark superficial mycelium, with long thick-walled dark brown setae scattered over the surface, 40-75 µm long and ca 4 µm diam at the base, remotely septate and smoothly tapering. Peridium composed of an outer layer of dark compressed thick-walled cells with cells to 5 µm diam, intermediate between textura epidermoidea and angularis, merging into a hyaline layer of thin-walled textura angularis. Interascal tissue not seen. Asci 65-81 x 6.5-8.5 µm, cylindrical, short-stalked, thin-walled at all stages, the apex rounded with an inconspicuous J- apical ring, 8-spored.
