Epichloë festucae var. lolii  

Morphologically more or less indistinguishable from Epichloë festucae var. festucae. The two taxa are clearly related phylogenetically, but var. lolii is consistently vertically transmitted and is therefore likely to be biologically separate from the populations on Festuca.
