SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata poorly and variably developed, sometimes visible as a layer of dark hyphae within the substrate tissue above and around the ascomata. Ascomata 500-800µm diam, often in roughly linear groups, black, the necks 200-300µm tall and 100-200µm diam, slightly protruding above the substratum. Peridium composed of an outer layer of textura intricata and an inner layer of textura angularis, appearing areolate due to aggregation of pigment; Munk pores present. Interascal tissue composed of filiform paraphyses, evanescent at maturity. Asci 105-160 x 5-9µm, cylindric-clavate, long-stalked (to ca 70µm), with an inconspicuous apical ring, 8-spored. Ascospores 11-15 x 2.5-4µm, cylindric-allantoid, 1-septate, the septum varying in position, brown, with an apical germ pore.
