SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stroma poorly-developed, though the ascomata are often aggregated. Ascomata 350-700µm diam, black, immersed, with wide cylindrical necks 150-500 x 100-300µm, the apices hardly protruding above the substrate surface. Peridium composed of an outer layer of textura intricata and inner layers of textura angularis, appearing areolate due to localized concentration of pigment, with well-developed Munk pores. Interascal tissue of paraphyses, ± filiform, mostly evanescent at maturity. Asci 110-160 x 5-8µm, cylindric-clavate, long-stalked (to ca 70µm), with an inconspicuous apical ring, 8-spored. Ascospores 10-13 x 2.5-3.5µm, ± cylindrical, often slightly curved, brown, aseptate, one end with a germ pore and often slightly attenuated.
