SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: ascomata apothecia, 10-30 mm diam., the stipe well-differentiated, rather short and slender, with obtuse, almost always single ribs, meeting the cup ± abruptly; main body of ascoma cupulate, remaining concave with age, without clearly defined ribs, the outer surface very finely pubescent, appearing ± glabrous to the naked eye, white (rarely yellowish) below, greyish to dark brown near the cup margin. Hymenium mostly dark brown, rarely black-brown. Asci cylindrical, without croziers. Ascospores 18-22.5 x 11.5-14.5 µm, ellipsoidal or rarely cylindric-ellipsoidal, aseptate, hyaline, smooth- and thin-walled, containing a single very large guttule, without an epispore, gelatinous sheath or appendages.
