Family: ChaetosphaeriaceaeGenus: Dinemasporium
SUMMARY
Anamorph: conidiomata to 200µm diam, superficial, black, at first globose but becoming cupulate, thin-walled, with abundant dark septate setae around the edge to 220µm in length. Conidiophores hyaline, simple or irregularly branched. Conidiogenous cells to 25 x 1.5-2.5µm, ± cylindrical, not clearly distinguished from the conidiophores, proliferating percurrently, periclinal thickening conspicuous. Conidia 9.5-11 x 1.5-2µm, cylindrical, sometimes slightly curved, hyaline, aseptate, with a single setose appendage 5-7µm long at each end.
Teleomorph: Ascomata 120-200µm diam, ± globose, often clustered into a poorly-developed longitudinal stroma, immersed, hardly papillate. Peridium composed of several layers of mid brown thin-walled tissue intermediate between textura angularis and epidermoidea, much more strongly melanized in the ostiolar region. Interascal tissue sparse, ca 2µm diam, slightly longer than the asci, very thin-walled, persistent. Asci 74-86 x 5-6µm, cylindrical, thin-walled, the apex rounded, with a conspicuous ± doliiform apical structure, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged uniseriately, 9-12 x 3-3.5µm, fusiform-ellipsoidal, hyaline, aseptate, thin-walled, often appearing slightly roughened, without a mucous sheath.
