Anamorph: unknown.

Teleomorph: Stroma absent. Ascomata 100-150 µm diam, often papillate, formed on a black subiculum. Peridium 10-12 µm thick, composed of outer brown thick-walled polyhedral cells merging into inner hyaline thin-walled cells. Interascal tissue of sparse, branched and anastomosed paraphysoids. Asci 40-50 x 10 µm, cylindrical-clavate, ± sessile. Ascospores (9-)13-18 x 4-5.5 µm, pale brown, often with one cell broader than the other.
