Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata with surface of host bark usually heavily blackened, ostioles erumpent singly or in small clusters or in longitudinal series, ventral zone in wood. Ascomata scattered, crowded or in longitudinal clusters, ostioles short-cylilndrical to elongate-sinuous and appressed. Ascospores 10-13 x 2.5-3.5 µm.
Wehmeyer considered this to belong within the D. rudis.
