Anamorph: Phomopsis veronicae-speciosae (Henn.) Died. (1911). Alpha-conidia 7-8 x 2-2.5 µm.

Teleomorph: stromata on host surface as pustulate ruptures, dorsal zone mostly lacking except beneath ruptures, ventral zone definite in wood. Ascomata irregularly scattered. Ascospores 9-14 x 4-5 µm.
