Teleomorph: Stromata well-delimited, appearing on the surface as irregular, slightly swollen and heavily blackened areas 10-35 x 4-15 mm in size, sometimes confluent, with scattered conical to shortly cylindrical ostioles, delimited within the substratum with a distinct black line. Ascomata perithecia, 500-700 µm diam., globose or slightly oblate, often broadly elliptical in trabsverse section, the neck central or slightly eccentric, the peridium thin and hardly pigmented.
