Diaporthe orobanches

Anamorph: Phomopsis orobanches Grove (1933). Alpha-conidia 8-9 x 1.5-2 µm.

Teleomorph: stromata broadly effuse, appearing as black spots often varying in size or as a blackened epidermis, interiorly with a black zone line. Ascomata globose, in groups beneath the epidermis, immersed in the substrate, ostiole long-cylindrical and sinuous. Asci 70 x 7 µm, clavate. Ascospores 10-12 x 3 µm, cylindrical-ovoid, constricted at the septum, 4-guttulate.
