SUMMARY
Anamorph: conidiomata small, 150-300 µm diam., stromatic, circular to elliptical in surface view, strongly flattened, subepidermal, with a central, slightly protuberant ostiole, with a single somewhat convoluted locule or 2-3 smaller locules with a common ostiole. Conidiophores formed directly on the lower wall which is composed of small pale brown angular cells 5-6 µm diam., rather short, with a single of a small cluster of conidiogenous cells at the apex. Conidiogenous cells 5-8 x ca 2 µm, cylindric-conical or with a bulbous base, proliferating percurently. Alpha conidia 6.5-8.5 x 2.5-3 µm, fusiform to cylindric-fusiform, hyaline, aseptate, biguttulate, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages. Beta conidia not seen.
Teleomorph: stromata broad, slightly darkening the host surface, with the ostioles perforating the bark, with a black zone line. Ascomata ca 500 µm diam, globose, somewhat depressed, immersed in the wood, scattered singly, ostioles cylindrical-conic. Asci 50-60 x 10 µm. Ascospores 15-18 x 4-4.5 µm, cylindrical-fusiform, constricted at the septum, 4-guttulate.
