Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata on host surface as perforations of the periderm through which one or a few ostioles are barely erumpent, surface of bark ± heavily blackened and often exposed by exfoliation of the periderm, ventral zone definite in wood. Ascomata scattered singly or in small groups, ostioles short-cylindrical. Ascospores 11-14 x 2.5-4 µm.
Wehmeyer considered this to belong within the D. eres aggregate.
