SUMMARY
Description contributed by Graham Kinsey, CABI, based on Wehmeyer (1933).
Anamorph: Phomopsis meliloti Grove (1930). Conidiomata ca 500 µm diam. Conidiogenous cells 16-20 µm long. Alpha-conidia 7 x 3 µm.
Teleomorph: Stromata with dorsal zone present or absent, ventral zone present. Ascomata scattered or in small groups, ostioles usually erumpent in clusters. Ascospores 9-10.5 x 2.5 µm (possibly to 15 µm long).
Wehmeyer considered this to belong within the D. arctii aggregate. Only the supposed anamorph is known from GB & I.
