SUMMARY
Description contributed by Graham Kinsey, CABI, based on Wehmeyer (1933).
Anamorph: Phomopsis euphorbiae (Sacc.) Traverso (1906). Alpha-conidia 7 x 3-3.5 µm, ovoid-cylindrical.
Teleomorph: stromata on host surface as small, 1-10(-15) x 1-3 mm, fusiform or elliptical blackened patches, or as more widely effuse areas, ventral zone definite in the wood, margin sharp but not prominent. Ascomata scattered singly. Ascospores 9-12 x 2.5-3.5 µm.
Wehmeyer considered this to belong within the D. pardalota aggregate. The stroma margin is less sharply defined than it is in some other members of the 'pardalota' group.
