SUMMARY
Stromata appearing on the host surface when young as numerous small, circular, pustulate, ectostromatic discs 0.2-0.4 mm diam., which later decay and fall away leaving circular perforations around which the ostioles are erumpent through the surrounding periderm, sometimes surrounded by a dark stromatic line. Ascomata 320-480µm diam, spherical or flattened, in loose clusters or scattered singly but always separately erumpent, ostioles papillate, 150-300 µm in length. Asci 65-85 x 10-15 µm, clavate with a refractive apical ring. Ascospores 13-18 x 3.5-4.5 µm when young but attaining 14-22 x 4-6 µm when fully mature, fusiform-ellipsoid, acute at both ends, constricted at the septum, with faint blunt terminal hyaline appendages sometimes present especially when young. Alpha-conidia 11-15 x 2-2.5 µm; beta-conidia 8-13(-15) x 1-1.5(-2) µm. Description contributed by Graham Kinsey.
