SUMMARY
Description contributed by Graham Kinsey, CABI, based on Wehmeyer (1933).
Anamorph: Phomopsis coneglanensis (Sacc.) Traverso (1906). Conidiomata 250-400 µm diam. Conidiophores 8-15(-20) x 1 µm. Alpha-conidia 7-12 x 2-3 µm; beta-conidia (12-)16-25 x 1 µm.
Teleomorph: Stromata on host surface as pustulate or angular ruptures of the periderm, dorsal zone present or absent or merely around the erumpent ostioles, ventral zone usually present. Ascomata irregularly scattered or somewhat grouped in bark or wood, ostioles erumpent singly or in small groups. Ascospores 12-14 x 4 µm.
Wehmeyer considered this to belong to the D. eres aggregate.
