SUMMARY

Dorsal blackening irregular, often only about ostioles, ventral zone present or often only at the margins of fruiting areas.
Anamorph: Phomopsis alnea (Sacc.) Höhn. (1906). Conidiophores 20 x 1 µm. Alpha-conidia 7-9 x 1.5-3 µm.
Teleomorph: ascomata irregularly scattered. Ascospores 11-15 x 2.5-4 µm.
Wehmeyer considered this to belong in the D. eres aggregate.
