Delitschia marchalii
SUMMARY
Anamorph: unknown.
Teleomorph: Stromata absent. Ascomata 265-400 x 200-450µm, ± globose, immersed, black, glabrous, with a papillate to shortly cylindric emergent neck. Asci 60-100 x 7-11(-12)µm, cylindrical, short-stalked, the apex rounded. Ascospores arranged obliquely uniseriately, 10-12(-14) x 5-6µm, ellipsoidal, with a median transverse septum, not or slightly contricted, becoming dark brown, with a single vertical germ slit in each cell, usually ± in the same orientation, with a narrow gelatinous sheath.
No GB material seen; description partially taken from Luck-Allen & Cain (1975). The small ascospores which have cells with single germ slits are not typical of the rest of the genus.
