Species:
Cryptodiaporthe pyrrhocystis
SUMMARY
Anamorph: Phomopsis-like. Conidiomata 800-1300 µm. Conidiophores 12-20 x 1.5 µm. Conidia 6-10 x 2-2.5(-3) µm.
Teleomorph: Stromata visible as irregularly elongate ruptures in bark; ectostromatic disc broad, flat, concolorous with host bark cortex; usually with a development of entostromatic mycelium, containing grouped ascomata. Ascomata 250-400 µm diam, necks papillate, separate. Peridium ca 20 µm thick. Asci 85-105 x 16-18 µm. Ascospores 21-27(-30) x 6-9 µm, constricted at the septum, with short stout hyaline appendages.
Description contributed by Graham Kinsey (CABI). The species probably belongs in Allantoporthe, according to Barr (1978), but no combination in that genus was made.
