SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata absent. Ascomata visible as minute dome-shaped, black dots erumpent through cracks in the host surface and surrounded by a poorly defined dark grey clypeus, 300-400 µm diam. and 150-250 µm tall, immersed, subglobose, with a central neck 50-70 µm diam. and 90-120 µm tall, lined with hyaline periphyses. Peridium 20-30 µm thick, composed of several layers of dark brown compressed cells. Interascal tissue of numerous unbranched flexuous thin-walled paraphyses to ca 5 µm diam., embedded in a gelatinous matrix. Asci 120-145 x 22-27 µm, broadly cylindrical, with a short stalk, the apex often slightly attenuated, rounded to ± truncate, not fissitunicate, with a thickened apical pad and a broad narrow apical ring 5-6 µm diam. and ca 1 µm thick, 8-spored. Ascospores arranged ± uniseriately, (20.5-) 22-25 x 11.5-13.5 µm, ellipsoidal, dark brown, thick-walled, with three narrow septa, often paler at the ends, surrounded by an epispore.
