Family: BoliniaceaeGenus: Camaropella
SUMMARY
Anamorph: not known.
Teleomorph: stromata erumpent, truncate with steep, bulging sides and a circular or elliptical, flat or slightly concave disc, relatively small (rarely >1 cm in length); surface of the disc (when still unstained) farinaceous to furfuraceous, yellowish- to olive-grey, dotted by low, irregularly spaced dark warts perforated by perithecial necks. Wood beneath the stromata is usually stained bright yellow. Perithecia polystichous, very long-necked. Entostroma yellowish-, ash- or olive-grey. Asci ± cylindrical, thin-walled, not fissitunicate, the apex rounded, without distinct apical structures, 8-spored. Ascospores ± uniseriately arranged, relatively large, (4-) 5.5-6 (-7) x 2-3 x ca 2 µm, very little flattened, the sides both in plan view and edge view almost straight and parallel, the spores in edge view thus short-bacilliform; aseptate, dark grey-brown, the spore wall relatively thin, smooth, germ pore absent or inconspicuous.
Description adapted from Nannfeldt (1972).
