SUMMARY
Anamorph: colonies reaching (14-) 25-30 mm diam. after 10 days, rather compact, white, with cream-coloured to pale yellow (rarely yellow) or uncoloured reverse. Conidiogenous cells produced directly on prostrate hyphae or on secondary branches. Secondary branches less frequent than in A. lecanii. Conidiogenous cells generally longer than those of A. lecanii and less tapering, measuring (15-) 20-35 x 1.0-1.7 µm. Conidia produced in globose heads, ellipsoidal to subcylindrical, more irregular in size and shape, longer and narrower than in A. lecanii, measuring (2-) 2.5-5.5 (-6) x 1-1.5(-1.8) µm. Octahedral crystals commonly present in culture.
