SUMMARY
Lesions to 18mm in length, usually occupying the entire width of the leaf and mostly towards the end, the included host tissue pale brown with irregular elongate blackened areas containing the conidiomata. Appressoria not seen.
Anamorph: conidiomata acervuli, minute, to 200µm long and 60 µm wide, in small clusters, formed of small plugs of cells, each bearing up to 8 setae and a similar number of conidiogenous cells. Setae 48-80 x 4-6 µm at the base, gradually tapering, the end acute, fairly thin-walled, dark grey-brown, unbranched, sometimes irregularly curved. Conidiogenous cells in a small palisade, 8-10 x 4-6 µm, doliiform, proliferating percurrently. Conidia 14.5-19 (-20.5) x (3.5-) 4-4.5 µm, falcate, the ends acute, aseptate, hyaline, thin-walled, without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
