Family: HerpotrichiellaceaeGenus: Cladophialophora
SUMMARY
Anamorph: basal stroma a weakly developed stromatic cushion composed of mid brown hyphae with irregularly swollen cells 3-5 μm diam.. Conidiophores lateral or terminal, to 9-38 (-55) μm long, 2.5–3.5 μm diam., ± erect, straight to slightly flexuous, ± subcylindrical, mostly unbranched, 0–4-septate, pale to medium brown, somewhat paler towards apices, smooth, in some cases aggregated but not strictly synnematous. Conidiogenous cells not clearly differentiated from the conidiophore, 1.5–2 (–2.5) μm diam., terminal or lateral as individual loci on the conidiophores, proliferation rare and then sympodial with 2-3 subdenticulate loci at the apex, scars minutely thickened and darkened, but not refractive. Conidia occurring in long, unbranched or loosely branched chains (–30), (10–) 14–23 (–27) × 2–3.5 μm, straight to slightly curved, mostly narrowly subcylindrical, obclavate in some larger, septate conidia, 0–1(–3)-septate, sometimes slightly constricted at the septa, subhyaline to pale brown, smooth, guttulate, tapering at the ends to minutely thickened and darkened, subtruncate scars 0.8–1.5 μm diam., without a gelatinous sheath or appendages.
Teleomorph: not known.
