Thallus small, crustose, lobate, varying from grey, brownish grey, olivaceous brown to brownish, the surface sometimes covered by a whitish pruina, with elongate lobes 1-1.5 mm long and 0.2-0.4 mm wide, formed of a paraplectenchymatous cortex with the upper part brownish, a ± continuous algal layer and a thin medulla. Prothallus absent. Coarse punctiform soredia develop on the lobes and in the centre of the thallus.
Anamorph: Conidiomata unchambered. Conidiophores small, cylindrical to ellipsoidal, branched. Conidiogenous cells flask-shaped, presumably proliferating percurrently, formed terminally and laterally on the conidiophores and also directly on the inner cells of the conidioma wall. Conidia 3.5-5 x ca 1 µm, bacilliform to narrowly ellipsoidal, presumably spermatial in function.
All chemical tests negative, no secondary metabolites detected.
